THE WHITE SHADOW
Yulia Yurchevskaya & Yulia Pazukhina
A visual meditation on inner strength, discipline, and the warrior archetype. Reimagining traditional Eastern aesthetics, the authors create the image of a “white ninja"—a symbol of absolute focus and purity of intent. The wild riverbank serves as a metaphor for the flow of time and life’s trials, through which the protagonist moves with a cold mind and a bared blade. It is a story about the balance between outer stillness and the devastating energy concealed within.
“In 'The White Shadow' collaboration, Yulia Pazukhina and I explore the philosophy of the Path. The image of a warrior in a white kimono and a traditional conical hat is more than a costume; it is a state of mind. We deliberately set the action on a riverbank, contrasting the dynamic flow of water with the stillness and flawless geometry of the posture. The sword in hand symbolizes the severing of everything superfluous: doubts, fears, and the noise of civilization. It is a cinematic performance about finding one’s inner anchor, a study in stylish rigor and a strength that requires no loud manifestos because it speaks the language of perfect form.”
