THE SPECTRAL BRIDE
A noir psychological thriller contained within a single frame. The bridal image here is stripped of its traditional celebration, serving instead as a symbol of purity that has become a screen for external projections. The mask completes this persona, transforming the protagonist into a mystical entity trapped between reality and a stream of light. The projector acts as a tool for deconstructing identity, layering fragments of memory and visual noise onto the delicate white fabric.
In 'The Spectral Bride' collaboration, Yulia Pazukhina and I explore the phenomenon of 'digital memory.' The white dress and mask create an image devoid of individuality yet saturated with meanings broadcast by the projector. This is a noir aesthetic where light conceals rather than reveals. We invite the viewer into a dreamscape where the bride becomes a ghost in the machine, and every glint on her mask is a fragment of a forgotten story. It is a visual reflection on how media and technology reshape our human essence.
