THE SILENT FLIGHT

A visual meditation on the captive spirit. The mask, in the form of a bird’s beak, symbolizes the archetypal yearning of the soul for freedom, flight, and the transcendent. However, the protagonist is bound with ropes to an ancient tree. This image serves as an allegory for the constraint of inner power, the conflict between spiritual impulse and earthly ties. The forest acts as a sacred space where this silent yet tense dialogue unfolds.

“In 'The Silent Flight' collaboration, Yulia Pazukhina and I explore the delicate balance between will and restraint. The glossy beak mask deprives the protagonist of a voice, but not of intent. Bound to the tree, she becomes a symbol of the soul that remembers the sky but is forced to remain on earth. This is not a story of defeat, but of a moment of inner concentration of strength before a possible ascent. The contrast of textures—ropes, latex, and tree bark—creates a tangible sense of an internal struggle hidden beneath the anonymity of the look.”
