THE MONSTER WITHIN:

A Study of Radical Acceptance

(Inspired by the Philosophy of Marilyn Monroe)

The Concept

“If you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”

This series is a visual manifesto of the unfiltered soul. Created by Yuliya and Anton Kalinichev, it explores the idea that true love and art require the courage to embrace the “monster” within. Through five stages of digital deconstruction, we strip away the polished surface to find the raw, honest beauty hidden in our shadows and imperfections.

Part I: THE UNFILTERED CORE

The journey begins at the baseline of honesty. This work visualizes the self without masks—fragile, fragmented, and unapologetically raw. It is the “worst” that must be seen before the “best” can be earned.

Part II: THE DIVINE GLITCH

Here, the human form begins to distort. We explore the aesthetics of the “breakdown, ” showing that there is a unique, divine grace in our flaws. The glitch is not an error; it is the soul’s true signature.

Part III: CHAOS AS A CANVAS

A mid-point reflection where the “monster” takes full form. This stage represents the moments of internal storm and emotional turbulence. It challenges the viewer: can you find beauty when order is lost?

Part IV: THE ART OF STAYING

The visual rhythm begins to stabilize. This chapter is about the resilience of love—the strength it takes to remain present when confronted with the “monstrous” side of another. It is the transition from fear to understanding.

Part V: RADICAL INTEGRATION

The finale. The “monster” and the “muse” finally merge. This work represents total self-acceptance and unconditional love. We realize that the shadows don’t diminish the light—they give it depth and reality.
