STILLNESS IN CHAOS
Every memory is not a static picture in an album. It is a ripple on the water. And all these memories, all moments lived and unlived, merge into one deep well of the soul.
She lives at the bottom of this well.
She is not drowned. She is its Keeper. A point of absolute stillness in the center of eternal motion. From there, from the depths, she looks up at the surface, through the layers of time.
Sometimes, the water is calm. Then her face emerges through a soft, golden-green glow. This is the echo of the past, moments of silence, the scent of old books and warm tea. Her gaze is clear. It is the peace of an ancient icon that has seen everything and has reconciled with it all.
But then someone throws a new stone into the well. Or an old ripple gathers strength. And the water is set in motion. The calm is replaced by a violet-crimson storm. This is the present—the chaos of information, emotions, fears, unlived lives that demand attention. The vortex spins faster and faster, trying to distort her features, to blur her image, to dissolve her into itself.
Her face distorts, doubles, multiplies. She struggles. But her struggle is not one of movement. Her struggle is the attempt to hold her gaze. Not to look away. To preserve herself while the world itself spins around her, threatening to grind her into the dust of time.
This is not a story about how to escape the well. It is a story about how to remain yourself at its bottom. Who are you, when everything that defines you is in eternal, uncontrollable motion?
A visual meditation on consciousness caught in a vortex of time and memory. The face, an anchor of stillness in the center of chaos, journeys from the warm, iconic tranquility of the past to the cold, swirling storm of the present.
This work is not about a struggle with the outside world, but about the internal battle to preserve one’s identity when the very fabric of reality and memory begins to ripple and spin. It is an attempt to hold one’s gaze without dissolving into the endless currents of being.
