REFLECTIONS IN THE RAIN
Photographer & Art Director: Viktoria Zavarnitsyna
Model: Yulia Yurchevskaya
A visual exploration of the city through the lens of inclement weather and fleeting moments. Here, the rain acts not as an obstacle, but as an artistic filter, exposing the raw textures of old streets, cracked plaster, and wet asphalt. The transparent umbrella serves as a metaphor for the fragile boundary between one’s inner world and the external environment. Balancing on the edge of street documentary and fine art drama, the series examines the aesthetics of solitude, the poetization of the mundane, and the melancholic beauty of a rainy day.
The rain washes away the noise, leaving the city alone with its history. In this collaboration with photographer Viktoria Zavarnitsyna, we sought beauty in the melancholy of old courtyards, weathered walls, and reflections in the puddles. My character does not hide from the storm—she embraces it, merging with the texture of a bygone era. Every frame is a suspended moment: a backward glance from beneath a transparent dome, a pause by an antique street sign, a step into a shadowed doorway, or a dramatic leap over a mirrored puddle. It is a story about how even the bleakest day can transform the city into a canvas of pure inspiration and profound inner freedom.
