RED LINE

Yulia Yurchevskaya & Yulia Pazukhina

A visual manifesto exploring themes of female emancipation, inner autonomy, and overcoming oppression. The enclosed studio space, drenched in an aggressive, pulsating red light, becomes a psychological cage that the protagonist deconstructs before the viewer’s eyes. Heavy steel chains in the hands of the “female ninja” cease to be symbols of captivity—they transform into weapons and instruments for subduing circumstances. This is a story about crossing personal boundaries and claiming absolute freedom.

“In the 'Red Line' collaboration, Yulia Pazukhina and I declare the right to rebellion and independence. The studio’s red light serves as a marker of ultimate tension, a boundary not to be crossed, and simultaneously a symbol of passion and inner power. The image of a ninja wielding heavy chains deconstructs the very notion of vulnerability. Here, the metal is tamed and subjected to female will. It is a cinematic performance about a strength that breaks any shackles and stereotypes. We captured the moment of absolute emancipation, where the warrior’s guise becomes a manifesto of total personal freedom.”
